Two Week Checkup

It’s been two weeks since I left the United States for the Netherlands, so I thought I’d give you guys a recap.

  1. I sprained my foot and reawakened an old rock climbing injury.
  2. I got an infection on my wisdom tooth from it coming out and breaking the skin of my gums. (Gross. I know. Sorry.)
  3. I ate something that gave me the worst stomach cramps I’ve ever had in my life.
  4. And I burned my finger.

So all in all it’s been good. ??

Right now I’m in Maastricht “watching” a game between PSV and Ajax, which is a big deal.

Oh and we’re rooting for PSV. Marcel said so. (Sorry Stephan)

It’s funny, I told my sister that the Netherlands was like a fairy tale, and that eventually the unrealistic fairy tale quality fades but you’re still left with breathtaking beauty.

Plus it’s turning into autumn. For those of you reading from California, that’s the week we have between mega summer and mild summer, only here it lasts like 3 months, and it’s pretty and crisp and cool, and the leaves on the trees change colors and eventually fall. Here let me give you a picture in case you can’t visualize that.

Autumn in Maastricht

For those of you reading anywhere else in the world. Um. It’s autumn? But you already knew that.

On an unrelated topic. Do you have any idea how terrifying it is to be sitting in the middle of a bar full of men, looking down and writing this post, when the entire room of manly men suddenly jump up and yell in unison when someone scores? I nearly fell out of my chair.

Oh. Do you know why we came to Maastricht? Because my mom and I saw an episode of House Hunters set here and it looked soooo pretty.

Maastricht did not let me down.

And tomorrow? Off to Bruges!

Which we’re going to because I saw it in the movie “In Bruges” and it looked soooo pretty. (GREAT movie by the way in case you haven’t seen it)

Here’s hoping it doesn’t disappoint!
